The trick to saving this as a template is simply to go to the Save As command and tell Word that you're saving it as a template. Take your mouse to the File menu, click File, and then click Save As. Sometimes there's not a difference between the Save command and the Save As command, but in this case, to be absolutely perfect, click Save As because Save As will give you options... for how you choose to save the document.
